Spring is here! 3 ways to declutter and invite something new

Can you feel that Spring is here? The beautiful weather certainly helps! Maybe you have an urge to declutter your home – give away clothes, books or furniture-, maybe you are thinking of doing a detox or cleanse, changing your diet, getting rid of a ‘bad’ habit or are planning to work out more regularly. Maybe you are ready for a more radical change – a move, a new job, a new relationship, or the start of project close to your heart.

With the Spring Equinox on March 20th starts a new cycle – the cycle of Rebirth. It is a time for renewal, a time when freshness and newness can emerge. Time to make space for something new!

Here are 3 tools to create space and invite something NEW:

  • Declutter your space: “Clutter is stagnant energy. In order for your energy to flow, clutter must be cleared. If don’t love it and you don’t use it, chances are it’s clutter. Love it, use it, or release it. Choose one room in your home and for every object that you see, ask yourself: Does this empower me? Does it diminish me? Surround yourself with objects that make you feel vibrant and alive. Release objects that make you feel tired, lethargic, or depressed.” From Denise Linn, world-renowned Feng shui and space clearing expert. Full article here.

 

  • Declutter your mind: Do you often feel caught in our own thoughts? Do you need to free up mental space? A great tool to create more headspace is meditation. Our minds also need some rest, and meditation can help! Start small – set aside 10 to 15 minutes a day to reconnect with yourself and give your mind a break, it can really make a difference in how you feel.   • Declutter your energy centers (chakras): Unacknowledged or repressed emotions, or build-up of stress and anxiety can quickly fill our inner space and chakras. We may feel irritable, sick or fatigued – a sign that we may need emotional spring clearing. How? We can start by allowing ourselves to feel these emotions or mental states, accept them for what they are, and remember that they are temporary states. To clear my energy centers, I have been doing a chakra cleanse every Spring. I use guided meditation to release what is depleting or blocking energy to flow, and allow a gentle yet powerful ‘reboot’ of my own chakras.
